Cultura GNR in Tomar at Cine-Teatro Paraíso After the UHF, it was the turn of the well-known Portuguese band GNR. The band with more than 40 years of history and music performs on February 12 at Cine-Teatro Paraíso as part of the Montepio Festival "Ás vez o Amor", on Valentine´s Day. 02 Feb 2022 min de leitura GNR (acronym for Grupo Novo Rock) is a Portuguese pop rock band, formed in Porto, in September 1980, by Alexandre Soares (vocals and guitar), Vitor Rua (guitar) and Tóli César Machado (drums). The group emerged in the period called "Portuguese rock boom", but the band members consider that they were on the sidelines of the phenomenon, as they broke barriers and created a new sound in Portugal.
