Bank valuation rises nearly 14% in May

In this month of May, the median value of bank assessment was 1,380 euros per square meter, 24 euros more than in April (13%), a year-on-year rate of change that stood at 13.9%.

The biggest monthly increase was registered in the Autonomous Region of Madeira, where the appraisal value rose 1.8%. Only the Autonomous Region of the Azores recorded a decline of -0.3%.

In the fifth month of the year, the median bank appraisal value of the apartments stood at 1,529 euros per square meter, 15.3% more than in May of last year. The Algarve and the Lisbon Metropolitan Area recorded the biggest rises in apartment prices.

With regard to housing, there was an increase in the median appraisal value of 9.1%, to 1,104 euros per square meter, compared to the same month of the previous year. The highest values ​​were also recorded in the Lisbon and Algarve Metropolitan Areas.

It should be noted that 33,130 bank evaluations were considered in May, 8% more than in the same period last year, with 21,215 bank evaluations being apartments and 11,915 houses.
